Problem Statement
When I joined CareAit, several core processes were broken, slow, or heavily manual, creating frustration for patients, caregivers, and even hospitals. The main challenges were:
Onboarding: Customer onboarding was clunky and required manual confirmation for every booking, slowing down the process.
Acquisition: Running ads drove users but caused a huge spike in Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), making it unsustainable.
Nurse Deployment: Assigning nurses involved manual calling, which was slow, inefficient, and unscalable.
Agency Management: Agencies were managing caregivers and nurses manually, with no real-time updates or visibility.
Solution
To address these challenges, I focused on building scalable systems, better user flows, and automation — making CareAit faster, more reliable, and easier for everyone involved.
Onboarding: Redesigned the entire customer onboarding flow with clean UI/UX and automation, turning it into a smooth, self-service experience.
Acquisition: Introduced a referral system with the sales team, reducing CAC drastically and making growth more sustainable.
Nurse Deployment: Built a nurse portal where verified nurses could onboard themselves and receive real-time job notifications, eliminating manual calling.
Agency Management: Developed a dedicated agency app for workforce management, enabling real-time tracking, booking alerts, and emergency notifications.
Key Features
Healthcare Workers Onboarding: Simple self-registration with verification for nurses and caregivers.
Lab Tests at Home: Patients can book diagnostics and lab tests directly through the app.
Referral System: Reward-driven referrals to reduce CAC and boost growth.
Emergency Alerts: Instant SOS system for urgent healthcare needs.
Worker Tracking: Real-time location and status updates for nurses and caregivers.
Result
These initiatives made CareAit faster, smarter, and more scalable, reducing CAC to as low as ₹2000, cutting manual onboarding and deployment time, giving agencies real-time workforce visibility, and ultimately improving both patient experience and hospital efficiency.
Takeaway
Working on these projects taught me lessons I’ll carry into every role ahead. The biggest one: always think user-first, because if the product doesn’t make sense to them, nothing else matters. I also learned the value of collaborating with Sales and solving problems together, since growth isn’t just a product team’s job. Another key takeaway was to always test thoroughly before deployment and trust the data, no matter what the assumptions are. And finally, I’ve realized the importance of building for scale from day one, so solutions don’t just fix today’s issues but also stand strong tomorrow.
